Much of the rural community survives because of the integration of tourism into that sector.
This project aims to make the visitor experience as pleasurable as possible. The purpose of local tourism ambassador training is to enhance the visitor experience with local knowledge and Recommendations. Ambassadors can be residents, businesses, employees and anyone engaging directly with visitors to the area.
GAP is a new and improved training programme, which will expand on the good work of the successful pilot programme by providing a digitized an expanded training programme. This programme will consolidate the existing network and allow for expansion of the scheme from the key learning points in the pilot. Ambassadors will also have the opportunity to complete specialist modules such as disabled friendly; history & heritage; and nature, wildlife, and the environment.
