soft fruit enterprise

There is an increasing public demand for open air experiences and landowners are well placed to take advantage of this trend while generating extra diversification income at the same time.

Farming Connect will have an open event on our focus site, which is a new newly established pick your own soft fruit enterprise. Within the event you will have an opportunity to have a tour around the site.

The key speaker will be Chris Creed, ADAS Horticulture Consultant, who has acted as adviser to the project and you will have a chance to listen to his information and advice regarding establishing a modern enterprise, as well as discussing ideas.

This brand-new unit on a green field site is based on table top strawberries in Spanish tunnels incorporating hydroponics and programmable cropping, with the aim of providing a four-month long picking season. Raspberries are also being grown on a long cane system in pots.

This event, ‘Establishing a modern pick your own soft fruit enterprise’ will be held on Scurlage Farm, Scurlage, Reynoldston, Swansea SA3 1BA, on 26/06/2019 between 14:00 – 16:00
