A newly formed Organisation, called Bro Mon, that will help support and develop new and existing Social Enterprises across Ynys Mon was officially launched by Lee Waters, Deputy Minister for Economy and Transport from the Welsh Government on December 1st 2020

The Launch ceremony was a Virtual event and was well attended by forty invited guests representing many Organisations from across the whole of Wales including the Wales Co-op and its Social Business Wales programme.

Chaired by Peter Davies OBE, Mr Waters along with Rhun ap Iorwerth MS, Ynys Mon (via Video Link) and Virginia Crosbie MP for Ynys Mon, all pledged support for the initiative and commended the idea of providing a supportive Organisation that would benefit Communities across the Island.

Supportive statements were made by Dafydd Gruffydd Menter Mon, and Peter Williams DTA Cymru, followed by a question and answer session, where the current Directors of Bro Mon explained how they saw their role in supporting and assisting budding enterprises across Ynys Mon.

Dafydd Gruffydd of Menter Môn stated that:

“during these difficult times it is good to see community  enterprises coming together as a collective, becoming more resilient and committing to support other like enterprises to make a real difference within their communities, all by sharing knowledge and valuable experience”

He wished the organisation well, and was very happy to have supported the development of Bro Môn via Menter Môn’s LEADER programme, which is funded by the Welsh Government’s Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020, which is funded by the Welsh Government and European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development with a contribution from the Anglesey Charitable Fund.”

The Bro Mon website is now live and available to anyone who wishes to contact the Organisation for support on https://bromon.cymru
