To celebrate Volunteer week (1-6 June 2019), The National Lottery Community Fund announced that they’ve awarded £3,200,162 in grants to 59 communities in Wales. These grants are made possible thanks to the National Lottery players.
Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam are very pleased to announce that their grant application to develop a new project called, ‘Symud Gyda Tedi’ has been successful and will be one of the projects receiving one of these grants.
This project will build on the fantastic success of the popular apps based on the Magi Ann characters. The Magi Ann apps were originally developed with support from the National Lottery Community Fund, with the aim of helping families across the world to learn to read in Welsh.
Tedi is one of the main characters in the Magi Ann stories and is a firm favourite amongst children. This new project will create a fun bilingual digital resource for families, which will be available for the whole community.
The aims of the project are promoting the use of the Welsh language, encourage good health practice and fitness and bringing communities across Wales together.
Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam are also grateful to be receiving funds towards ‘Symud Gyda Tedi’ project from Cadwyn Clwyd and this project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities- Rural Development Programme 2014- 2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
