Round 5 of the Timber Business Investment Scheme (TBIS) will be open for Expressions of Interest from 1 March – 9 April 2021, with a budget of £2m from the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020.
TBIS is open to applications from private forest and tree nursery owners, local authorities or other public sector forest owners and SME’s that are engaged in forest planting and management activities, timber harvesting and/or timber processing.
As in previous rounds, the scheme is designed to support projects that realise forestry potential, relate to the mobilising (harvesting), processing and adding value to forest products, and that invest in resource-friendly harvesting machinery and practices, but this round of TBIS will also support projects that increase the capacity as a tree nurseries, and deal with trees infected with Ash Dieback.’
