Seafood Trade Mission, Hong Kong

Welsh Government in partnership with the EMFF funded Seafood Market Development Project, which is funded by the European Union and the Welsh Government, are proposing a Trade Mission to Hong Kong in September 2018.

There is a maximum of 10 places available to attend this trade mission which will coincide with Seafood Expo Asia in Wanchai, Hong Kong which takes place 4 – 6 September.

National Assembly for Wales approves legislation for a ban on microbeads

A ban on plastic microbeads in ‘rinse-off’ personal care products will come into force in Wales from 30 June.

The ban will make it an offence to manufacture or supply any rinse-off personal care products which contain the microbeads. A microbead is a water-insoluble solid plastic particle of up to 5mm in size, too small to be filtered out in sewage treatment systems. An estimated 680 tonnes of plastic microbeads have been used in personal care products in the UK every year, billions of which end up in the sea. The tiny beads accumulate...
