7.7 billion plastic drinking bottles thrown away in the UK every year, forming a large percentage of the litter that washes up on our shores, clogs our rivers, threatens our wildlife and contaminates our food chain.

In response to this, Wales has announced it is set to become the world’s first ‘ Refill Nation’, improving access to drinking water in public places. Wales to become first ‘Refill Nation’ in the World

The Environment Minister Hannah Blythyn will today announce plans to consolidate Wales’s place as the leading UK nation for recycling and reducing waste, as well as her ambition for Wales to be the World’s first ‘Refill Nation.

To become the UK’s first ‘Refill Nation’, work will get underway to improve access to drinking water in public places across Wales. Cabinet Secretary visits Conwy Marina to launch FPV Catrin

Lesley Griffiths visited North Wales in order to officially christen FPV Catrin, the first of three new fishery patrol vessels being commissioned by Welsh Government for Marine and Fisheries enforcement.

FPV Catrin is one of three new patrol vessels alongside FPV Rhodri Morgan and FPV Lady Megan that have been commissioned by Welsh Government to replace the current ageing vessels and help maintain effective enforcement of Welsh waters. First Minister to announce support for Holyhead Marina

First Minister Carwyn Jones will be visiting Holyhead Marina today to announce funding support and thank all those involved in the clean-up operation since Storm Emma.

The Welsh Government is to provide £100,000 to the Isle of Anglesey Council towards the cost of the clean up, and to ensure businesses are able to remain open and attract tourism to the area.
