To celebrate World Milk Day, a taster of how Wales Rural Development Programme through its Sustainable Production Grant supports the Welsh Dairy industry.

Dairy Herd Housing - This project involves the construction of a new milking parlour, cow housing and handling area under one roof.

Gate Farm PresaddfedThe project is based on converting Gate Farm from a dry stock farm to a dairy farm and includes investment in a feed pad, slurry storage, milking parlour, cow tracks, water troughs and cattle handling facilities.

Milking Parlour Handling Area and Tanker injectorThe proposed project involves the installation of a new milking parlour within a new 135' x 52' building and adjoining dairy to enable herd expansion from 140 to 200 cows.

Aled Morris, Marian Mawr - Dairy Development Project - The aim of the project is to increase farm profits and reduce reliance on subsidies. The proposal is to increase cow numbers whilst also improving the health, welfare and economics of replacement heifer rearing.

Facilities to Increase Number of Dairy Cows - The aims of the project is to provide the facilities to improve cow performance and reduce milking time at Ynysgain by installing a new 20:40 rapid exit parlour and milk cooling equipment.

D T Miles and S Miles - To develop a new organic dairy facility at a newly purchased Elliots Hill Farm.

Gelliargwellt Rotary Dairy Development Project - The applicant wishes to invest in a new rotary parlour, herd management systems, bulk milk storage, automated animal handling system and calving pens.

Rhual Dairy Development -  Rhual Dairy Farm is looking to invest in its facilities to improve the existing infrastructure to enhance cow health as well as the businesses financial sustainability and environmental efficiency.

Improving milk production efficiency at Neuaddlwyd - Investments to improve housing and feed efficiency for livestock and optimising grass production of unit.

Redevelopment of dairy infrastructure at Bayliau - The project involves the substantial redevelopment of the dairy herd facilities to accommodate an expanding herd. 

Further Support for the Dairy Industry through the Co-operation & Supply Chain Development Scheme.

Dairy Improvement Programme (DIP) - The Dairy Improvement Programme (DIP) is Pan Wales and will develop and assess new engagement strategies to increase the profitability and resilience of the Welsh dairy sector. 

Dairy Strategic Initiative - The Dairy Strategic Initiative aims to increase the profitability and resilience of the Welsh dairy sector by lowering production costs through increasing efficiencies whilst encouraging approaches to mitigate or adapt to climate change.
