Michael Benfield

Doctor of  European Planning & Development, Michael is one of four co-founders of the international Green Party and was an EU team consultant for transferring former Soviet Union social assets.

As visiting Professor of Civil & Construction Engineering Research, University of Wales, he promoted environmental construction, establishing & chairing ‘Wood Knowledge Wales’ for ‘Wales Forest Business Partnership’.

Delegated to UNCTAD for the Commonwealth Human Ecology Council, he was a Community Land Trust Association founder, Faculty of Building ‘Low Cost Housing’ committee member and Walter Segal Self-Build Trust advisor.

He designed containerised Disaster Relief Emergency & Relocatable housing  (DiRReP), was a national New Homes Marketing Board member, and won HRH Prince of Wales’ ‘Big Tick’ Business in the Community 3 years in succession.

A Freeman of the City of Coventry, he is now a Business Angel Investor who understands start-ups, innovation, risk, finance, turnarounds, Corporate Governance and community engagement.
