Andy Anderson
Having qualified as a biochemist, Andy started his career in the food industry before moving to healthcare in 1980 in the field of diabetes testing. He has worked for several mutli-national companies in senior sales and marketing roles before returning to the food industry in 1992 with Welsh company Biotrace.
He then joined Astra Zeneca to lead the marketing of their genetic testing facility in Oxford. In 1999 he set up his own company, Crawford Medical Limited, selling virtual reality-based medical simulators from 2000 to 2006 and, having sold the company, turned to providing health and education consultancy services to the NHS and a variety of other companies.
In 2016 he raised £4 million in seed capital for, and was appointed temporary CEO, of a diagnostics spin-out from Oxford University, Osler Diagnostics. He has been Chair of Governors at a large state school and has a Diploma in School Business Management. He has a real interest in connecting mainstream and healthcare education. He also runs occasional seminars on team building using Myers Briggs personality profiling, a system he is qualified to teach and use. He has a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute and is also a certified Happiness Life Coach.
Apart from extensive knowledge of all aspects of sales and marketing, he has experience of setting up and managing a start-up business, skills that can be applied to any product or service. He has managed many teams and is passionate about the need for building positive relationships, both internal and external, that drive business success.
