Cleopatra Brown

Winner of various marketing and business awards, Cleopatra Browne has a keen interest in digital marketing and website development. Armed with an unnerving passion and enthusiasm, Cleopatra has taken her business Celtic Quest Coasteering Ltd from one woman and a van, to the Best Visitor Experience in Wales - National Tourism Awards 2013.

Having worked in the outdoor industry for many years, instructing and coaching a variety of activities including climbing, surfing, kayaking, sailing and so on, Cleopatra saw an opportunity to specialise in the fast growing activity of Coasteering.

Coasteering involves navigating along a stretch of coastline, exploring the impact zone where sea meets land. Tailoring every adventure to suit each individual adventurer, Cleopatra and her team of Coasteering Guides are able to select a route suitable for anyone aged 8 years upwards (including non-swimmers!). Adventures can include sea-level traversing, rock hopping, adventure swimming, playing in water features (washing machine, tumble dryer, toilet flush) and not forgetting cliff jumping up to 10metres!

Back in 2009, with a very limited budget but months of winter ahead, Cleopatra re-branded Celtic Quest Coasteering into it’s current form. Redesigning the logo and brand, self-taught html coding to design and build the website and developing an online marketing strategy, utilizing social media networks and independent review websites.

Celtic Quest Coasteering is now a leading brand worldwide, with a reputation for excellence.

Combining her personal business and marketing experience with a can-do approach, Cleopatra thrives on challenges set by herself and others. Her quirky creativity is always bubbling with ideas and improvements.

Business top-tip

“Everything involves a certain amount of risk. If you don’t try, you’ll never succeed! There will be failures along the way, but calculated risk will lead to success!”
