Creative Wales is proud to announce that it will be heading to Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2026 for the first time.
Why Tokyo Game Show?
One of the world’s largest and most influential gaming events, Tokyo Game Show celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026. The show spans 11 exhibition halls, showcasing the latest innovations from global publishers and independent studios, alongside keynote sessions, sponsor showcases and the prestigious Japan Game Awards.
Beyond game development, TGS brings together esports, AR/VR, AI technologies, business solutions, merchandising and emerging platforms, offering a broad and practical insight into the Japanese and wider Asian games ecosystem. Regular exhibitors include Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft, Sega, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Konami, Riot Games and EA.
For Welsh studios, TGS offers an opportunity to increase international visibility, build meaningful connections and gain first-hand insight into the Japanese market. It is particularly relevant for studios actively exploring Japan as a future territory or developing titles that culturally or creatively resonate with Japanese audiences.
Japan is a market that is relationship-led and long-term in focus. This trade mission is therefore designed to support studios to engage realistically and strategically, with an emphasis on learning, networking and relationship-building, rather than immediate commercial outcomes.
Why attend with Creative Wales?
Travelling as part of a Creative Wales–led trade mission offers greater visibility, credibility and on-the-ground support than attending independently. A shared Welsh presence helps open doors, maximises time on site, reduces cost and risk, and enables peer collaboration, providing a more confident and structured route into an international market.
Creative Wales will support participating companies throughout the journey, offering a comprehensive package that includes:
• Targeted networking opportunities with key businesses and decision-makers
• Expert guidance and market insight to help you prepare and engage effectively
• Travel coordination through our appointed agent
• Marketing amplification, with studios featured across Creative Wales promotional activity
