A senior hospitality and tourism operator with multi-site, multi-brand and turnaround experience. I excel at supporting the creation of winning teams focused on quality and exceeding expectations: delivering return to investors and building brand value. Since setting up Barsby Associates in 2007 I have worked with more than 150 enterprises including start-ups. Expertise has included raising finance for expansion, shareholder buy-out, start-up and re-investment, assisting companies to expand and improve internal systems. I have also helped several owners successfully plan for succession and or exit.

I have experience of working with a broad range of enterprises; from complex ownership of a hotel group through to boutique award winning B&B. I have also mentored/coached owners of: Holiday Cottages, Luxury Caravan and Leisure Parks, Golf Courses, Pubs, Restaurants, Attractions, Holiday Villages, Vintage Vehicle Rental, Branded Hotels, Hotel Groups, Luxury Hotels. My active senior role within multi-site private hotel companies has also helped to ensure I have remained knowledgeable of current trends, industry advances and real-world issues throughout the UK/Europe that impact on profitability, gaining and maintaining market share and shareholder value.

For the past 20 years undertaken overseas consultancy for regional tourism development plus delivered seminars and lectures on behalf of The Savoy Trust throughout Eastern Europe. I am an Associate Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University subjects include: International Competitive Marketing Strategies, Strategic Tourism Management, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship.

I also have extensive experience with public and private sector partnerships, membership organisations and the non-for profit, and charity sectors as chair, trustee, director, panel member and volunteer.
