James Parry

After studying psychology, science and sport I went into retail - specifically sporting products. Unexpectedly after taking a seasonal role as an assistant I actually spent several years in this area. While learning my role as a manager of a well known store I learned every aspect of the industry and so by the age of 21 I had worked my way up to become the store manager and developed the store to a level where we achieved a £3 million turnover per year.

After spending time working abroad I returned to the UK speaking Spanish as a second language. I found myself settled in Conwy and decided that I wanted to make a difference using my experience - I wanted to help others build their expectations. Having qualifications in Health and Social Care my knowledge led me to work in the community, using my skills to support people and complete my own goal. So my current role as community liaison for FITC (football in the community) gives me the opportunity to do this.

My passion is for people, retail and using my knowledge, experience and skills, I can offer support to businesses in retail or not for profit organisations.

In terms of core skills and strengths that I think can help in any mentoring relationship, I have excellent communication and customer service skills and management and leadership qualities. I'm helpful, polite, motivated, with a genuine vested interest in sport, and am highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages with experience in Retail and the Health and community sectors.
