Keith Parry
I was born and grew up in Traeth Coch (Red Wharf Bay), Anglesey and completed my secondary education at Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones in Amlwch.
I left school in 1978 to pursue a career and extend my education in the banking sector, joining Barclays at their Llanrwst branch in May 1978.
Within my first 5 years with Barclays I gained experience across all branch departments, completed my banking exams and became an Associate of the Institute of Bankers (now Financial Services).
Between 1985 and 1995 I worked extensively in corporate relationship and senior risk management roles in Shrewsbury and Birmingham before joining the Midlands Corporate Banking team in central Birmingham where I carried out a number of senior Relationship Director roles until I retired in June 2022 after a 44 year career with Barclays.
During the past 25 years with the bank, I was extensively involved in:
- managing the banking relationship for a portfolio of domestic and multinational corporate clients with annual turnover up to £3bn. This covered clients across many sectors including manufacturing, real estate/house building, retail/wholesale, financial services and a specific focus on the automotive retail industry.
- supporting and advising clients on all aspects of working capital/cash management, international trade, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and basic investment banking requirements.
- managing, coaching and developing my support team and managing relationships with a range of internal teams, external stakeholders and professional partners. Following my retirement from Barclays in 2022 my wife Nicola and I sold the family home in the Midlands and moved back to Anglesey to live. We are currently undertaking a renovation project on our property in Benllech.
