Kevin Field

I have had a varied career ranging from retail store management to the oil and gas industry with positions including IT Manager, Bank Manager, Senior Project Manager and General Manager. I’ve also been a police officer with North Wales police. I now have a varied and deep skill set which I would never have gained had I been confined to one sector. I love taking complicated problems, breaking them down to their constituent parts and then producing solutions and have a great deal of experience in change management and in implementing changes in a dynamic work environment. Business analysis is also an area I am particularly interested in, specifically understanding how a process works and interacts with other processes, then designing the most optimal solution. I have gained significant experience in business continuity planning and have designed and implemented numerous successful business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Strategic threat analysis and planning is also an area I have a lot of experience in. As a volunteer adult instructor for the local cadet forces, I was a senior officer in charge of the training and development of 36 detachments across the North West Area. I served with the force for 23 years.
I love learning new things and thrive on challenge. I’m a CMI Chartered Manager, have CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 7 in Executive Coaching and Mentoring and a City and Guilds Level 6 in Leadership and Management. I also have qualifications in IT, such as GDPR, business continuity planning and implementation and have PRINCE 2 Practitioner status.
I would classify myself as somewhat of a leadership nerd, having read 200+ books plus studying everything from philosophy to psychology. I believe in a people first and people centric culture and strive to help all of my colleagues to achieve all they can be.
I have benefited greatly from the excellent mentoring I have received through the business Wales programme and I am more than happy to help others in any small way I can!
