Patricia Carlin

Having worked for a Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) 100 company for 24 years, including 17 years developing overseas markets in Europe, Central America and the Caribbean, my experience is broad-brush, including heading up a strategic business unit, research and developing new markets, finding opportunities to provide profitability and return on investment.

This work encompassed procurement, costing product, marketing, sales and distribution, treasury on currency exchange, import and export legislation. Hiring and maintaining an excellent working relationship with distribution agents and their staff was critical, whilst understanding multi-market legislative policies and procedures.

Strengths include Strategic and Operational Business Planning, Coaching and Mentoring which has been an invaluable asset in my current role as Senior Business Adviser with Flintshire County Council. My knowledge and experience has widened to include tendering and writing bids and Lean Management practice. I have been an instigator in setting up business networks and continue to actively partner with various business networks stretching across north Wales and north west England.

In the last 10 years I have ensured my professional CPD is up to date, and have gained Chartered Management Status with CMI in 2009 and I have completed a Public Sector Management MA in 2010.

I have experience of coaching and mentoring businesses at many levels including Managing Director/ Chief Officer level and recent qualifications include Level 7 ILM IN Executive Coaching and Mentoring. I volunteer as a mentor with Carers Trust, and have been a trustee and board member of several local charities.
