Suzi Park
Suzi has set up her first business in West Wales in 1994, working from her converted garage.
She went on to be the founder of two further businesses, Prizma Embroidery and latterly Make it in Wales.
She is currently the owner of Cambrian Wool, and she runs craft courses under the brand Make it in Wales. She was a Director of Make it in Wales CIC for 8 years and was also a Director of Cambrian wool CIC at the same time.
Her early career began in the Midlands in the 80’s and after graduating, from
Nottingham Trent, she worked as a knitwear designer for Jaeger, working with High end brands like Burberry, Aquascutum and Laura Ashley.
After ten years of working in the textile industry, she relocated to
West Wales and set up a digital embroidery business supplying embroidery to the wedding dress market. The business ran for over 15 years.
Her career overlapped and Suzi also worked at Carmarthen college in various roles, including working as a part-time lecturer on the Contemporary BA Textiles course. After her embroidery business closed she eventually ran European and Welsh Government funded projects at the college, aimed at supporting the Fashion and Textile industry in Wales. Whilst employed at the college she wrote and delivered a Foundation Degree in Textiles Technologies and ran a pilot Apprenticeship in Fashion and Textiles, the first in Wales at the time.
In 2016 Suzi took voluntary redundancy from the college and with the funds set up Make it in Wales, a craft based business working with Welsh makers to deliver courses in the area.
Keep learning and upskilling. Knowledge is King!
