Tourism Covid-19 Group – Taskforce

In the early stages of the Covid-19 crisis the Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism requested the establishment of a representative body from the tourism sector to discuss with him the impact of the crisis on the industry. The work encompasses many strands including common themes such as gaps in funding packages, ideas for alleviating the problems and highlighting specific needs of the tourism sector to Ministers.

The group, sometimes referred to as the Tourism Taskforce, consists of:

• the 4 Chairs of the Regional Forums
• Welsh Representatives on Visit Britain 
• UK Tourism Industry Council
• Wales Tourism Alliance 
• UK Hospitality Cymru 
• Director of Culture, Sport and Tourism Jason Thomas (as chair) and his senior tourism team.
