Cian Iolen Rhys
Bethesda, Gwynedd
Cian Iolen Rhys is a second-generation farmer from Bethesda, Gwynedd. Cian is a full-time student at Coleg Glynllifon, balancing his studies with farm work at his family's 120-acre beef cattle farm in Nantporth, Bangor and working on a nearby farm, Hendy, Caernarfon.
Currently, Cian is club secretary for Dyffryn Ogwen YFC and is an active member of the club. On the weekends, Cian enjoys playing for Bethesda Youths rugby team and participates in local singing competitions, including the Eisteddfod, something he has enjoyed from a very young age.
Cian aspires to become a livestock auctioneer and has already gained valuable experience through work placements and his participation in YFC auction competitions and even organising his own auction at the Dyffryn Ogwen speed shearing charity event. Cian enjoys attending auctions locally and further afield.
Seeking to gain new skills, broaden his horizons, and connect with like-minded individuals are some of the reasons Cian applied for the Agri Academy, but the main reason was in search of a challenge that will push him to think outside the box.
