Ellis Dylan Morgan
Talybont on Usk, Powys
Ellis Morgan, 18, from a mixed sheep and beef farm in mid Wales, has just finished a Level 3 Land-Based Engineering qualification at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire. His background on the family’s 450-acre farm - powered by hydro, solar, and biomass energy - has fuelled a passion for machinery, sustainability, and innovation in agriculture. The family recently diversified into apple juice production.
A keen engineer, Ellis now works full-time in an agricultural workshop, gaining hands-on experience with servicing and machinery repair.
Ellis is a proud member of Sennybridge YFC and competes regularly in speaking, stock fencing, and entertainment competitions, earning three nominations for Best Male Actor (U18). He plays rugby for Brecon Youth and enjoys community fundraising activities.
Ellis is excited about meeting like-minded young people and exploring new ideas to support the future of farming in Wales.
“I am particularly keen to gain insights from others in the industry and broaden my knowledge in preparation for running my own agricultural engineering business on-farm, offering repair services and potentially refurbishing vintage machinery.
“I can’t wait to embrace every opportunity the Junior Agri Academy offers and determined to make the most of the experience, both personally and professionally.”
