I had lots of different jobs before graduating and starting as a management trainee.  I was working on a commission basis, getting 50% of any business I brought in.  I realised if I was my own boss this would be 100% and that’s when I became an entrepreneur.

Start. Now. Not next year, not when your course finishes, not when you’ve got all the paperwork in place. Start now.

Steve Dimmick - Dimmicks

I run two main businesses – Dimmicks is a recruitment consultancy, recruiting for the likes of Adidas, Google and Canon globally, as well as more working with more local companies.  I’ve also recently established a creative agency called Small Joys, which is currently delivering its first piece of work for Visit Wales.

The hardest thing is turning down work, but I’ve tried to keep the business small so that I still have time to spend with my family.
