Welsh Government would like to invite your company to participate in its export market visit to Chicago, USA, and Toronto, Canada. This visit coincides with MRO Americas 2024 (in Chicago from 09-11 April 2024).
WHY CHICAGO?
The United States is the largest, most competitive and technologically advanced economy in the world.It is by the far the largest export market for products
and services from Wales. With low regulatory barriers, minimal language barriers and access to the global supply chain, it offers huge potential for Welsh exporters.
With a population of almost 9 million people and a GDP of over $770 billion the broader Chicago metropolitan area has a strong manufacturing and industrial base with particular strengths in automotive, aerospace and engineering solutions. As a regional hub for the Mid-West and the USA’s third largest city, Chicago also offers opportunities for businesses in finance, tech, professional services, education, life sciences and Welsh produced food, drink and consumer products.
WHY TORONTO?
Canada is the world’s second-largest country and eleventh-largest economy, with a population of 37 million people. It’s politically stable with a strong record of economic growth. The UK has well-established trade links with Canada, and in the year up to March 2019 UK exports totalled £10.7 billion (ONS, 2019).
Canada has a highly developed and competitive market. Its strong business and consumer base is sensitive to both price and quality. Bringing something new or different are often seen as the keys to success.
Whilst Toronto is a renowned financial and professional services centre, second only to New York, as one of the fastest growing cities in North America and Canada’s commercial centre it is competitive in every other major business sector from technology and life sciences to green energy; from fashion and design to food and beverage; from film and television production to music and digital media. Toronto’s rich industrial diversity drives growth, innovation and new leading-edge hybrid sectors including med-tech, green-tech and food-tech present significant opportunities for Welsh exporters.

ARRANGEMENT OF MEETING SERVICES
If you would like to maximise your time at the event, we can offer support for a programme of 3-4 meetings to be arranged for you by one of our business consultants. This service is available from £500.
Please note, if you would like this support, then you must submit your application 10 weeks before the export market visit or exhibition departs. If your application is submitted after 2 February 2024 then we cannot guarantee that there is there is sufficient time to effectively provide this additional support.
