Elin Wyn Williams

Bangor, Gwynedd

Elin Williams is studying Agriculture Level 3 at Coleg Glynllifon.  She is not from a farming background, but that hasn’t impeded her determination to work within the sector. Resolute and focused, she’s keen to gain all the skills and expertise she can in readiness for studying agriculture at university.

Excited about the prospect of eventually having leadership responsibilities through a farm manager role, alongside gaining more animal husbandry skills she hopes to develop her understanding of farm planning, budgeting and keeping abreast of constantly evolving agricultural technologies.

Alongside student life, playing ladies’ rugby and being an active supporter of her local YFC, Elin has already gained three years practical experience. She helps with milking and calf-rearing at a large 500-unit dairy farm which runs an indoor, year-round calving system. She also works part time at a local sheep farm where her duties include general husbandry, sorting, dosing and vaccinations as well as lambing and shearing.

A confident communicator who enjoys showing initiative, Elin can’t wait to gain a deeper understanding of the agriculture industry through the Agri Academy and to build on the key skills she already has.

“I’m confident that my Agri Academy experience will open many doors and help shape my future career pathway!”
