Mastitis is one of the costliest challenges facing dairy farmers, while levels of Somatic Cell Count have a direct impact on milk price achieved. Tackling these important issues can increase milk price and yield, reduce culling and cut the cost of production.
At a Farming Connect event, vet Dr James Breen will discuss how to control clinical mastitis and herd Somatic Cell Count. The workshop will focus on understanding where new infections arise in your herds and the relative importance of the dry and lactating period in terms of mastitis control, using the host farm as a case study.
