Overview:
This course will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to install post and strained wire fencing safely, protecting both you and those around you. 
This training course has been developed to help you understand how to install post and strained wire fencing safely. The amount of instruction you will require will depend upon your previous experience and sessions will be adapted to meet your needs. 

The course will consist of theory and practical sessions, followed by assessment. Course sessions include: 
• Types of Fence
• How to Install Strained Wire Fencing 
• Theory Assessment 
• Practical Assessment. 

At the end of this course, you will be able to:
 • Describe the purpose and components of post and strained wire 
    fence systems 
• Describe the materials and installation requirements for post and 
   strained wire fence systems 
• Select and prepare tools, equipment and resources for post and 
   strained wire fence systems 
• Demonstrate how to calculate the required materials for post and 
   strained wire fence systems 
• Demonstrate how to position and fix posts at specified lines, levels 
   and angles 
• Prepare and install post and strained wire components to meet   
   specifications 
• Position and securely fix post and strained wire components at 
   specified lines, levels and heights 
• Demonstrate how to inspect, repair and test strained wire fence 
   systems.

Course duration will depend on experience and will be from one to four days.

If successful in meeting the required standards assessed, you will be awarded a certificate of competence and a Lantra skills ID card.
