Anna Jones
Welshpool, Powys
Anna Jones returned to her family farm in 2016 to work alongside her father and in 2021, her partner joined them. Prior to that, she spent 10 years in the equine industry, competing nationally in eventing and working as a groom and instructor, teaching children and adults to ride. This experience combined her love of teaching with the thrill of travel, especially her time running a riding program at a summer camp in America.
Currently her family farm is primarily Sheep and Beef. Anna is dedicated to both continuing the family legacy and improving animal husbandry practices.
They have already established a successful holiday rental property with plans for another, and are looking forward to hosting unique pop-up events featuring al fresco dining.
Anna would like to increase the cattle herd size and finish some beef cattle of her own so that she can sell her own beef boxes.
Her goal is to diversify the farm but still keep it as a working farm.
She believes the Agri Academy will allow her to make firm connections and see innovative ideas from other people in the industry.
“I’m hoping that being part of the Agri Academy will build my confidence in what I’m doing as a farmer and as a business woman.”
