Upcoming changes to requirements for buying and using professional rodenticides

Since 1 January 2025, use of SGARs (Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides) in open areas (away from buildings) or waste dumps is illegal.

From 1 January 2026, these products will only be supplied to those who can demonstrate they either have:

• proof of certification to a CRRU UK approved training course in the last 5 years
• proof of certification to a CRRU UK approved training course more than 5 years ago and current membership of a CRRU UK approved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme

Act now if you need access to professional rodenticide products but do not meet thenew requirements.
