Looking at ways to reduce the use of antibiotics at lambing time will be one of the key topics being discussed at a Farming Connect Open Day.

Vet Kate Hovers will provide an overview of a project being undertaken at Plas, Llandegfan, Anglesey - a Farming Connect Demonstration Site - to reduce antibiotic use at lambing. The nutritional requirements of beef cattle will be discussed by livestock nutrition consultant Hefin Richards, who will also give a presentation on preparing rations for cattle.

The event will also include a farm tour and a presentation about the farming system at Plas from the farmer Arwyn Jones.

Farming Connect Technical Officer Gethin Prys Davies said: “Everyone is welcome to join us at the open day to get a taste of the farm and the projects that will be undertaken there.”
