Optimising calving age and interval, and ensuring cow health and fertility are some of the ways of improving efficiency in the suckler herd that can lead to increased profitability.

Join Farming Connect at three events evaluating ways to improve efficiency in suckler herds. Ian Pritchard, of SRUC will discuss optimising mature cow size, calving heifers at two years old and the results from data collected over four years at Lan Farm, Cynwyl Elfed - a Farming Connect Focus Site. Maintaining reproductive efficiency and the impact of eradicating BVD on animal production will also be highlighted.
