Farmers are being encouraged to find out more about whether they can access funding for environmental projects aimed at helping to manage water resources.
The Glastir Small Grants scheme offers up to £7,500 funding for capital works projects aiming to provide environmental benefits and an Expression of Interest window for the next round of funding opens in December. Funding will be available for projects on the theme ‘water’, with an emphasis on water quality, including activities to separate clean and dirty water on farmyards, hedge planting and restoration, and small scale tree planting.
To help people find out more about what is available through the new grant scheme and the type of projects that can be funded, Farming Connect is hosting three events across Wales. The events will also focus on learning how to apply online and technical requirements such as geo-tagged photos which are necessary for claiming, along with details of the support and guidance available through Farming Connect. The events are taking place as follows:
Tuesday, 13 December 2016, 19:30 - 21:30 - The Oriel Country Hotel & Spa, St Asaph, LL17 OLW
Wednesday, 14 December 2016, 19:30 - 21:30 - Gwesty'r Emlyn Hotel, Newcastle Emlyn, SA38 9DU
