Focus site project: The story of soya
Project aim:
To monitor the feeding of a TMR system incorporating soya based protein and using best practice guidelines for feeding ewes prior to lambing including:
- the cost of feeding soya based protein in a TMR system compared with traditional compound feeding based on modelled feeding levels
- the recording of lamb losses and benchmarking against previous years data and industry standard figures
- the estimation of savings in labour compared with traditional feeding systems
