School was difficult for me – not helped by attending seven different schools, and my parents’ divorce. After an unsuccessful early career I moved to London on a whim to try and change my life. I was very lucky to work in marketing for some of the biggest companies in the world, but I always wanted my own business.

In 2000 I bought a franchise, but faced more setbacks – I was injured in an IRA bomb attack, and had to move back to Wales and declare bankruptcy. I then started up a consultancy specialising in helping small companies to see how marketing can bring in clients and help to generate profits.
