As the business is unique I have had to learn from my own experiences. I have developed more of a training side to the business than expected.

As I am the only Succession Facilitation business in the UK and Ireland publicity was key. Getting the publicity without the experience was very difficult. I had to form relationships with key people who would then promote me. I also had to do a lot of speaking at meetings for free to publicise what I do. I found it quite difficult to be doing this all alone so I developed a network of trusted people and found myself a mentor.

It was very tough and the biggest lesson I learned was that if you really believe in what you are doing you have to be persistent, even in the face of the doubts of other people.
