I started my first business because I felt bored and trapped as an employee working for someone else.  I wanted to try to go it alone, even if I failed.  My first company was selling GPS into the outdoor market when it was already established in the marine market.

Don’t give up if it’s something you feel passionate about.  Give it 100% commitment.

I now run Castell Partnership, which incorporates several businesses.  The main two are The Point –marketing and graphic design – and Ayton West Imaging – product, food and commercial photography.

Challenges along the way included lack of funding, un-cooperative partners, and the difficult trading conditions of the recession.
