I am a passionate falconer displaying amazing birds of prey at events including, weddings, motivational talks, coaching events, birthday parties, schools, & country shows.
Before venturing into business, research whether or not there is a need for that service in the area.
Islwyn Jones - Pen y Bryn Falconry
My biggest enjoyment has always been to meet new people of all walks of life and when possible, to help them.
In my first year of business the biggest lesson I learnt was that you have to govern yourself and give it your all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to succeed. I have made many mistakes along the way but have learnt from them and have made sure that they don’t happen again. It is always good to look back and share your experiences with others.
Due to an accident early on in the business I was in a wheelchair for 18 months and told that I would probably never work again or be able to walk normally. I overcame this challenge by never giving up!
My business was always my dream. I am lucky enough to have been able to make a living out of my hobby. I enjoy the freedom to make my own decisions along with the responsibility and challenges it entails.
I feel that I have changed people’s perception of birds of prey and my birds help many people to regain their confidence and to overcome many things that have happened in their lives.
My inspiration is working with people, especially young people that need to be inspired to make something of themselves. I am able to pass on my knowledge of starting up a business using my own ideas and interests.
