Privacy Notice - Big Ideas Wales Competitions
This privacy notice outlines how the Welsh Government (we, us, our) will process your personal data if you enter enterprising competitions through Big Ideas Wales.
In order to administer your entry for the competition, we need to process the following types of personal information about you: Name, age, email address, the name of attended school, college, university or community group, and local authority. This information enables us to provide you with information and help as you apply. This includes sending you emails, links to online resources and direct mail relating directly to the competition you apply for. We will be controller for the personal information you provide and will process it in order to undertake a task in the public interest in our capacity as the Welsh Government.
Personal information submitted as part of the competition will be retained for 6 months after its end date at which point it will be deleted from all systems.
This data will only be shared with delivery partners working together on the Big Ideas Wales programme; service providers Cazbah and Prospects who deliver Big Ideas Wales support on behalf of the Welsh Government, and the Simply Do administration team, as competition entries will be completed through the Simply Do platform online. We will only share information where we have a legal basis as shown above, or when we must by law.
Under the data protection legislation, You have the right to:
- Access to the Personal data that we are processing about you;
- Require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data;
- The right (in certain circumstances) to object to or restrict processing;
- The right (in certain circumstances) for your data to be ‘erased’
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who is our independent regulator for data protection
