The Welsh Government will be the Data Controller for the personal data you provide to Big Ideas Wales. The data will be processed in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

This privacy notice explains how your personal data will be processed fairly and lawfully and in a transparent manner. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy practices. 

When you sign up online with Big Ideas Wales, we will use the information you provide to deliver the information and help highlighted as you sign up. This includes sending you emails, links to online resources and networking events, direct mail relevant to starting a business and sending you guides. We're planning on introducing more channels of contact such as text messaging or Whatsapp groups. As more resources become available they will be added to this statement

As Big Ideas Wales support is aimed at 13 – 25 year olds, we ask for your age  to ensure that once you reach 25 we can let you know about other support available to help you start a business.

We process your data in line with the official authority vested in Welsh Government to support youth entrepreneurship in line with the national strategy Prosperity for All: The Economic Action Plan.

Your data will be processed by the Welsh Government and service providers Cazbah and Prospects who deliver Big Ideas Wales support on behalf of the Welsh Government. The data will be retained for 10 years after the duration of the Big Ideas Wales programme.

Changes to this policy

The Welsh Government may make changes to this privacy policy at any time. Changes will be posted here and are effective immediately. When changes occur to this policy we will contact you on the email address we have recorded in your account to enable you to review the new version.

Your rights

  • Under the data protection legislation, You have the right to:
  • Access to the Personal data that we are processing about you;
  • Require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data;
  • The right (in certain circumstances) to object to or restrict processing;;
  • The right (in certain circumstances) for your data to be ‘erased’;
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who is our independent regulator for data protection

The Freedom of Information Act and your Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 allow the public to ask to see information held by public bodies, including the Welsh Government.
