I organize women’s sports events such as surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding etc. I organize, promote and attend all events. I also run some social events called She Talks which involve some amazing women telling their stories of adventure, sports, mental health etc. giving women a chance to get inspired and socialize.
I also freelance as a video and audio editor, including videos for BBC Sesh, and podcasts for BBC Sounds. I have worked as a blogger and vlogger and have my own YouTube video which has actually got me work as a content creator.
I started my business when i graduated from University. I have always had a passion for sports, I am a former GB Snowboard Cross athlete and always been involved in many outdoor sports- i wanted to give more women the chance to try these amazing sports, give them a chance to challenge themselves and meet like minded people.
Sports can give people so much, and I wanted to empower women through sport.
I always wanted to be my own boss, my grandfather had his own business and my father after him. It’s just something I always aspired to do.
When I first started my business, it was something completely different and the idea just didn’t work. After a lot of changes/ market research and rethinking I got to where I am now.
The best thing about being my own boss is being able to work when and where you want from, the flexibility of it and doing what you love!
My top tip to young entrepreneurs is: Follow your passion and just do it! You will learn so much in the process.
