Lucent Dreaming is an independent magazine for creative writing and art, publishing in print and online since 2018.

Lucent Dreaming started to address the lack of publishing opportunities in Wales and the UK for new and emerging writers, artists and editors.

Lots of things inspired me to start the magazine, including support from friends and university, but also the fact that I thought I could avoid what I saw was wrong in publishing.

My own anxieties about public speaking and failure are things that I have learnt to manage while running Lucent Dreaming.

Being my own boss means getting to decide what my day looks like and supporting people like me who are developing their craft and creativity.
