My name is Kristina, and I'm the owner of my own company called 'Kristina Banholzer Photography'.
I first picked up a camera when I was 16 years old. Having studied photography in school for a few months, I was about to embark upon a trip of a lifetime to India. I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing with the device, but on my return, I had found a new hobby and was certain I wanted to pursue this new-found love for the medium!
I was fortunate enough to study Documentary Photography in Newport University, but after my time there I lost confidence to pick up a camera again. Years went by, I travelled the world and finally found myself working in an office...which I knew deep down, wasn't for me. This gave me the push to finally go out and start my own company, and my life has never been the same since!
Four years later and my business is thriving, and I have MANY favorite memories of my time as a freelance photographer already! I now get to work in TV, Theatre, Festivals and get to meet lots of great people!
I love my job!
My top tip would be to encourage you all to get involved with local voluntary work to get to know your community and to build a good relationship with local people. Local people will be your best contact for business when you’ll need it.
