Jon started his career as a mixed vet, which quickly taught him effective communication skills in dealing with a wide variety of clients and personality types.
Effective communication is crucial to earning trust and gaining a thorough understanding of complex farm systems, which enables him to deliver top level, bespoke advice to each farm in order to maximise their benefit.
Having focused on bovine medicine for several years, Jon has developed a wealth of detailed knowledge covering fertility, nutrition, mastitis, lameness, infectious disease control and herd health.
Jon prides himself on working collaboratively with clients to practise preventative herd health, in order to better maintain animal welfare and productivity, which has the added benefit of maintaining profitability on farm.
Once clients see the benefits of farming in this way, they don’t look back.

Latest achievement is helping an autumn block calving dairy tighten their calving pattern from 25 weeks in 2021, and will now calve over 17 weeks in 2023, aiming for a 12 week block in 2024.
