  • Mailys has an in-depth knowledge of the poultry industry and production systems and has accumulated practical experience on farms through her studies. She is part of the poultry team in ADAS.
  • She is experienced in delivering farm business reviews. Mailys delivers business reviews for farmers in England as part of the Future Farm Resilience Fund and was part of the team gathering farm-level data on animal welfare practices and systems to inform policy development for future support payment programmes, with a specific focus on poultry and pig enterprises.
  • Mailys has extensive experience and knowledge in animal health and welfare through her involvement in several projects focusing on diseases and their transmissions. 
  • She is experienced in producing costs of production to farmers or the industry. She is a key deliverer of costings for the Ranger and of the Poultry Rate Cards. These are used by the industry nationally for valuations when a disease outbreak occurs in a poultry enterprise.
  • Mailys is personable, open-minded and determined in her provision of high-quality consultancy services into a wide range of livestock enterprises.
