Llifon Davies
Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire
Llifon Davies grew up on a 60-cow dairy farm in Carmarthenshire, developing a strong work ethic and passion for agriculture. Motivated to make small-scale farming profitable and sustainable as a full-time career, he studied Agriculture with Farm Business Management at Harper Adams University to equip himself with the knowledge and mindset needed to achieve his goals.
After graduating, Llifon gained international experience in New Zealand, working with large-scale cattle and sheep enterprises. Returning home, he joined one of Wales’ most progressive beef and sheep farmers, an early pioneer of rotational grazing and regenerative farming, deepening his understanding of sustainable farming methods.
Llifon, a former Farming Connect Red Meat Technical Officer, is now partner in a thriving 300-head calf rearing business. The farm is run on a simple system focusing on regenerative values, prioritising rotational grazing, environmental sustainability and profitability. The business uses minimal fertiliser, making best use of farmyard manure and incorporating legumes to address nitrogen levels naturally.
“Our goals are to be profitable, maintain a good work-life balance and care for the environment through sustainable farming systems.
“I am confident the Agri Academy will connect me with innovative business people, enhance my management skills and broaden my networks.”
