Leah Davies

Denbigh, Denbighshire

Growing up in rural North Wales, Leah Davies of Nantlgyn, Denbighshire admits that the world of agriculture comes as natural to her as it is to breathe. Despite growing up on the family farm and keeping her own flock of pedigree Texels, which she hopes to expand in the coming years, Leah hopes to pursue her love for graphic design at university this coming September having recently completed her A Levels at Ysgol Glan Clwyd.

A creative character, Leah admits to having a keen interest in photography and enjoys taking pictures of the pedigree Texel flock at home. Leah also possesses an enthusiasm for sport and enjoys playing hockey and rugby. Through her interest of sport, she gets the opportunity to train children, an activity she relishes having recently started working at a children’s afterschool club.

Leah is always happy to contribute to the local community having been made Head Girl in her penultimate year of sixth form and also plays an important role in Nantglyn’s Young Farmers Club (YFC) as deputy-secretary.

With the goal of studying graphic design and illustration at university, Leah plans to pursue this path and develop a career in the field. Nevertheless, not wanting to turn her back completely on her rural roots, Leah hopes to combine her love for graphic design with agriculture and work within the industry.

“I believe the skills and workshops offered by the Agri Academy will be invaluable not only in the professional sense but also on a more personal level in order to become a more rounded member of my society. I also feel like this is a golden opportunity to be able to meet new people and to understand more about other areas of Wales.”
