Farming Connect has added to its range of fully-funded e-learning interactives which now cover a wide variety of topics ranging from liverfluke to the benefits of using high sugar grasses and from grazing management to farm finance.

With all modules designed to strengthen the knowledge and skill set of farmers and foresters, this convenient online training programme will help you develop new and existing skills and knowledge. The end result will be that you can expect to save both time and money by improving working practices within your business.  With topics such as Health and Safety and biosecurity included in the mix, you could be taking positive steps to reduce many of the day to day risks for both humans and livestock!

Kevin Thomas, Director of Lantra Wales, which delivers the Lifelong Learning and Development Programme, says that the short bite-sized interactive modules can be completed in around 15 to 20 minutes.

“Provided you are registered with the current Farming Connect programme – which means you need to have registered since October 2015 -  you can learn in the comfort of your own home or office at a time convenient to you.

“Each module will test your knowledge on the specific subjects or topics you select and then you can self-assess what you’ve learnt by completing a short quiz.”

So, which courses would most benefit your business – what will you choose?  The ‘Farm Finance’ module will introduce you to cash flow, balance sheets and profit and loss accounts and you should find talking to your professional advisers a lot easier as you get used to their terminology.  The interactive on ‘Soil Structure’ will teach you how to examine and improve soil structure, which can lead to greater profitability as well as being good for the wider environment.

To register or find out more about our online services browse this website, see what’s available and decide which would be most beneficial for your business requirements.

After you’ve registered you’ll receive an email providing your individual username and password to log on to BOSS, the Welsh Government’s Business Online Support Service and then you are ready to start your e-learning experience.
