The Limousin breed of cattle was first imported to the UK from France 50 years ago. Since then, the breed has grown in popularity enormously, becoming the most popular beef sire in the UK. In this episode, we hear from Dr Delana Davies of the Tierson herd of pedigree Limousins, who’s family was instrumental in introducing the breed to Wales, and Alison Glasgow, Technical Manager for the British Limousin Cattle Society about some of the ground-breaking research being undertaken to improve the carcass traits and feed efficiency of the breed.
