The Challenge
Think of a solution to something that would have a positive impact on people around you or in your community. This is your new social business idea!
Tell us about the idea
Tell us about the positive impact (impact)
Tell us how you will make money (profit)
Tell us how you have thought about the 3P’s (people, planet, profit)
Pull this all together to create either a video or a PowerPoint presentation to bring your idea to life.
The key thing about this activity is that you ‘start something good’ and most importantly enjoy it. When you profit, society profits!
Who can enter
Young people living in Wales aged 11-18 (you could be at school, college, in training, in work, looking for work, or a community group etc)
You can enter as an individual or as part of a group (max 6 participants)
Your idea
It could be a brand-new idea you think would work, or something you’ve already been working on, (provided it’s between 1st January 2021 and 26th May 2022). As long as it addresses the Challenge, it’s eligible.
What will you get out of it?
By taking part you will be exploring the world of business in a fun way and developing entrepreneurial skills such as problem solving, teamwork, resilience, confidence and creativity - all important skills for whatever you do in the future.
If you’re in school or college this challenge will complement work you are already doing, such as in Business Studies, the WBQ, writing your Personal Statement.
If you have left education this would be a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and especially if you have an interest in business and supporting your community. You may have hobbies that you can possibly turn into a business idea!
When people think more entrepreneurially, they see more opportunities and create better futures for themselves.
