Social Enterprise Stakeholder Group (SESG)

The Social Enterprise Stakeholder Group is made up of five agencies that provide sector specific business advice and guidance to new and established social enterprise in Wales. These organisations are Development Trusts Association Wales, Social Firms Wales, UnLtd, Wales Co-operative Centre and the WCVA. The group also has support from Welsh Government and social enterprise practitioner members.

The SESG has a number of objectives and these include acting as a voice for the social enterprise sector in Wales and to oversee the implementation of the social enterprise vision and action plan “Transforming Wales through social enterprise”. We are also working to support social enterprise education to be embedded across the school curriculum in Wales.

We’re Keep Wales Tidy – the charity working across Wales to protect our environment for now and for the future.

We know a good quality environment matters to people and the benefits can have a big impact on our communities, health and well-being and economy.

We take action to make a positive difference and our work ranges far and wide! We deliver practical action, environmental education, training, business services and environmental solutions across Wales.

We help set the standards high for parks, beaches, marinas and tourism in Wales through our range of internationally-accredited awards as well as being policy and research experts in our field.

We do all of this for one reason – our vision is a beautiful Wales that is cared for and that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Our International Eco-Schools programme in Wales has over 90% of schools participating. This year we are excited to encourage schools to enter the Enterprise Troopers competition, asking that they highlight the wonderful enterprising work they are involved in. We will share the inspiring Eco Enterprise activities with our vast network and look forward to the creativity and inspiration our pupils never fail to produce.

At  Folly Farm  you can visit over 750 animals at our zoo and get up close to furry and feathery farmyard friends in our barn. Llancaiach Fawr Manor stands proudly, as it has done since c1550, overlooking the Glamorgan uplands. It is set within restored period gardens which provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy the passing of the seasons in this tranquil location.  It is where the past and the present meet.

This superbly restored grade 1 listed gentry manor house is no ordinary heritage attraction.  History here is tangible. The costumed servants of the house are living and working in 1645 and allow you to share and inhabit their world. Fires crackle, candles flicker, woollen clothing rustles and the sounds and smells of domestic life create a memorable sensory experience of the past. It takes a moment to attune your ear to the unfamiliar speech within the Manor itself, but within seconds you become immersed in the time of the Civil Wars and the cares and concerns of ordinary people living through extraordinary times.
