We are an IT training and software development company, using mainly Microsoft Office. In my training courses I focuses on getting technical information across to people in a way that non-technical people can understand.

If you are going to work for yourself then it is important to do something which you are passionate about. Think of it as a boat on which you set sail and let it take you where it wants to go, be willing to explore as well as say no to opportunities.

I have been working in the IT business since graduating from Loughborough University of Technology in 1985. Before setting up, I worked for various companies as an IT developer, trainer and support person, always on the software side.

I began with providing training on a one to one basis with small groups of people, which I still do today. I also develop admin systems for businesses using Microsoft Office.

One of the main setbacks was being side tracked into opportunities which did not fit with the core business. I have learnt that it is better to be quiet than unnecessarily busy.

I love the flexibility and the freedom to turn down work, and that I get to spend more time with my family and to explore other interests.

I really enjoy passing on that which I have learnt to the up and coming generations. I also believe that the future prosperity and resilience of people in Wales depends on developing our own SMEs.
